Delhi, the capital city of India, is a majestic metropolis. It has the blend of the ancient and the new.  This city has an air of history, of magnificence, of stories galore. Found right in the heart of India, Delhi is a capital with a heart. It is an international destination, a hub for business, entertainment and sport. It is a reflection of the attitude of the subcontinent – proud, bold and hospitable.

The beautiful well laid Rajpath, the India gate stand in honour of the Indian soldier. These monuments define India's resilience and fortitude. The Rajghat is a memorial to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. It attracts not just Indians who want to pay homage to Mahatma, but also thousands of people from across the globe, who want to pay respects to the memory of this great man. Delhi's ancient history draws many to it. It has been a capital of many kingdoms right from 300 BC. Today, the city has much to offer for the history buff. The purana qila (“the old fort”), Qutub Minar, Red Fort, Humayun's tomb, Safdarjung tomb, Jantar mantar are few of the historic sites that the city has. 

The famous Lotus temple, the akshardham temple, the Gurudwara Bangla sahib, the Nizamuddin darga are famous places of worship in Delhi, reflecting the “unity in diversity” spirit of India. Delhi has beautiful gardens like the Shanti Van and the Lodhi gardens, which are breathing lung spaces in the midst of the huge city. 

Chandni Chowk is a busy market place. In fact, it is Asia's largest whole sale market. It was founded by the mughals and arts patronized by the Mughals are still found here. The narrow gullies (streets) are replete with color and are fascinating. Sarojini Market, Khan Market, Karol Bagh, Connaught place, Lajpat nagar markets are all shopping arenas of the city. Each of them is an experience, all of them, vibrant and so full of life. One can buy clothes,jewellary, carpets, ivory, leather, pottery, bangles and other art works here. 

Delhi has numerous malls, all of them luxurious and urban in outlook. Stylish cafes, pubs, sports bars, gaming parlours, gourmet restaurants, cinemas are plenty in the city. It is equipped with every modern facility for the tourist. Delhi has a very well connected transport system of buses and the metro rail. 

Delhi is a city with a soul. It has witnessed immemorial stories and has stood the test of time. Tolerance, is the very character of the city. Its an eclectic mix of many cultures, cuisines and ideologies. There's something very human and calming about the city. It feels so wise and yet so vibrant. It is indeed, a Royal city.
