Temple Tours

India is the spring of spirituality. It is the abode of Gods. It is the forerunner and birth place of many religions. It is a land where many philosophical theories, religious ideologies were propounded and debated – to its current evolved form. It is where people from all over the world, come to find the Gods and inner peace.

The temple tours help you find the Gods. There are many places in India, which are important to many faiths. The Holy Ganges brings in its wake, many such places. Haridwar (“the gateway to the gods”), the Rishikesh, Kedarnath, Badrinath yatras – are essentially a part of the “dev bhoomi” (land of gods). A lot of people come here, in the firm belief that their wishes will be fullfilled and their sins will be pardoned.

Banares, or the today's Varanasi, is one the oldest known Indian towns gracing the banks of the ganges. Banares, popular as the “Kashi” - is considered one of the most holiest places for the Hindus. It is believed that it is a land so holy, that people who breathe their last at Kashi, will reach the gates of Heaven directly. It is believed that the water from the Ganges can purify you, relieve you of the burden of all your sins. Allahabad, the confluence of the three holy rivers – Ganga, Yamuna and the fabled Saraswati is yet another holy place. The Kumbh Mela, a holy event, draws people in the millions to this place, once every 12 years.

The Golden Temple at Amristsar draws many people to it – as a religious place of the Sikhs.

The south harbours several holy places – incredibly beautiful temples of the Dravidian style of architecture. The Thanjavur district in Tamil Nadu is replete with heavily ornate temples. The Meenakshi temple at Madurai, the Chidambaram temple, the Kanchivaram temple, the Tirupati temple of Andhra Pradesh, the Puri Jagannath temple at Puri, Orissa (known for its “Rath Yatra” and the root of the word “juggernaut”),   are extremely popular piligrim destinations.

From the plains of the south to the snow capped Himalayas, the Gods watch over you, in India. Sages and monks reside in peaceful meditation in the mountains. The journey through the Indian temples is a lesson in tolerance, truth, finding your higher self and righteousness. The teachings preach to carry the gods with us and become “living gods” ourselves. There is a firm belief that everything in nature, including us, is part of the divine. Come to India, to find your divine self.
